Angular contact ball bearings are constructed with inclined contact angles between balls and raceways, enabling combined radial and axial load capacity. Contact‑angle magnitude directly defines axial‑load capacity: larger contact angles deliver stronger axial resistance while slightly limiting maximum permissible rotational speed. Single‑row units bear one‑way axial force only; they are often arranged in matched sets (back‑to‑back, face‑to‑face, tandem) to handle bidirectional loads and set preload levels. Double‑row angular‑contact variants integrate two sets of ball assemblies within one bearing envelope. Standard contact‑angle specifications include 15°, 30° and 40°.

Metric and inch specifications are widely used throughout North‑American and Latin‑American industrial sites. Common applications are centrifugal pumps, air compressors, machine‑tool spindles, reduction gears and precision transmission equipment. Preload settings heavily influence system rigidity, running noise and service life.
